Stealing tonight’s episode of The Voice UK Blind Auditions was Amelia O’Connell, singing the Roberta Flack classic ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’.

With the 16-year-old’s father Kieran being a leading Tom Jones tribute act, it was only fitting that the Sir was the first coach to press their button. But with Kylie and Ricky soon joining him, the teenagers choice quickly became more complicated.

Despite her Dad’s singing connection and Sir Tom given the young star a standing ovation, the Liverpool lass eventually chose to join Team Kylie.

With a number of great singers already on the Australian’s roster, including fellow 16-year-old Rachael O’Connor, Miss Minogue is starting to look the strong favorite to become 2014’s winning coach in her first season.

As if Amelia’s vocal talents weren’t already impressive enough, the fact this student had to recover from open-heart surgery at the age of 7 to fix a leaking valve, makes her achievements all the more inspirational.

So if you missed it earlier or understandably just want to see it again, here’s the video of Amelia O’Connell’s amazing first round audition:

As the show now begins to discover some truly talented and commercial singers, could series 3 finally see The Voice UK find a future chart-topping star?
