Capital BBC Theme Music – All the singer and song information for BBC1’s new 2015 drama.

What’s the Capital BBC theme song and who sings it?

The track you hear playing during the opening credits of Capital is called ‘Losing You’ and is performed by the legendary English singer Dusty Springfield.

You can download the full length version of the song from iTunes and Amazon.

Losing You was released as a single in 1964, when it reached number 9 in the UK charts. The track then appeared the following year on the artists ‘Ooooooweeee!!!’ album.

Born in North London in 1939, Dusty Springfield went on to enjoy a highly successful career in pop music, achieving hits with such songs as ‘You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me’, ‘I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself’, ‘Son of a Preacher Man’, ‘I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten’ and ‘What Have I Done to Deserve This?’

Episode 1 of Capital first aired on Tuesday the 24th of November, 2015 and is now available to watch online with BBC iPlayer.

For any fans of BBC Four’s comedy-drama Detectorists who tuned in part-way through Capital, you could be forgiven for thinking you were on the wrong channel. This is due to actors Toby Jones and Rachael Stirling currently featuring in the cast list of both shows.
