The fishing village is located on the North coast of Cornwall and is currently home to just over 700 residents, including interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, for at least some of the year.

The area has understandably been chosen by TV and film producers due to its quietness and of course, picturesque scenery. Even the shows interior scenes are filmed inside a local barn conversion.

The area and its residents are no strangers to actors and film crews though, having previously played host to the filming of the movie ‘Saving Grace’, back in 2000. Saving Grace also happened to star actor Martin Clunes, who’s character Dr Martin Bamford, provided the inspiration for Doc Martin himself.
