Not for the first time during the X Factor 2013 live shows, Hannah Barrett tonight found herself in the bottom two and facing the dreaded sing-off.
For her save-me-song this time, the 17 year old took on the seemingly questionable choice of Wrecking Ball by the controversial Miley Cyrus. From YouTube, here’s the official ITV video of Hannah performing in tonight’s bottom two:
As things turned out, Hannah clearly knew what she was doing, singing the best version I’ve heard of the track to date. Perhaps even stealing the limelight from Miley, who’s expected to perform the song herself on next Sundays X Factor results show. No doubt sporting less attire than Miss Barrett was for her far more emotional and soulful version tonight.
Despite fellow bottom two act Abi Alton putting up a strong fight, it was Hannah to whom the judges granted safe passage to next weeks show.
Based on her placings in the public vote so far though, it’s hard to see Hannah remaining in the competition much longer. Which speaks volumes for the level of talent on show in this years series.
