Question: What’s the name of the group Tamera Foster was in when she first auditioned for X Factor?
Answer: When Tamera originally took part in the room auditions of the X factor UK in 2013, she was part of the girl group ‘Silver Rock’. The two piece group comprised of Tamera and her 22 year-old friend Jerrie Bafundila.
During their initial audition, Silver Rock sang the song ‘End of Time’ by Beyonce. All four judges liked both of their voices but didn’t believe they fitted together well as a duo.
The pair were then each asked to sing a song on their own, with Jerrie choosing another Beyonce track ‘Listen’ and Tamera performing ‘Falling’ by Alicia Keys. Despite Louis Walsh being keen to add another member to form a trio, the panel eventually decided to put them both through as solo artists.
Jerrie Bafundila later failed to progress past the arena auditions while Tamera Foster sailed through, with her now famous rendition of the Whitney Houston classic ‘I Have Nothing’. Though the 16 year old had issues with remembering the lyrics, she was able to display more than enough vocal talent to bag four yeses.
