BBC Children in Need Sewing Bee Celebrity Contestants Revealed

For fans of The Great British Sewing Bee who thought they’d be waiting until 2015 for their next helping of needle and thread action, your in for an unexpected treat this Autumn.

The BBC today announced the complete contestant line-up for a three-part celebrity Children in Need 2014 special. In addition to the 12 famous faces taking their places behind the sewing machines, each episode will also be presented by a special guest host. Basically, the format is much the same style as The Great Sport Relief Bake Off which aired earlier this year.

The celeb cast line-up taking part in The BBC Children in Need Sewing Bee will be:

Episode 1

Wendi Peters – Former Coronation Street star in the role of Cilla Battersby-Brown.

Dave MyersStrictly Come Dancing 2013 contestant and one half of the TV cookery duo The Hairy Bikers.

Edith Bowman – Radio DJ and music-based television presenter.

Dr Dawn Harper – Medical doctor and co-host of the Channel 4 series Embarrassing Bodies.

Guest Host: Jenny Eclair – Comedian, writer and actress.

Episode 2

Mark Watson – Stand-up comedian and novelist.

Louie Spence – Pineapple Dance Studios dancer, choreographer and former Dancing on Ice judge.

Gaby Roslin – Television presenter and former Children in Need co-host.

Pam Ferris – Actress who has starred in such shows as Call the Midwife, Rosemary & Thyme, Where the Heart Is and The Darling Buds of May.

Guest Host: Sara Cox – Radio DJ and TV presenter.

Episode 3

Helen Lederer – Comedian and actress possibly best known for starring as Catriona in Absolutely Fabulous. Helen also took part in the ITV reality series Splash in 2013.

Gemma Cairney – Current BBC Radio 1 DJ on the early morning breakfast show.

Timmy Matley – Singer with male harmony group The Overtones.

Kathryn Flett – Author and TV critic.

Guest Host: Anita Rani – Presenter on such shows as Four Rooms, The One Show and Seven Wonders of the Commonwealth.

Regular judges May Martin and Patrick Grant will be on hand each evening to rate the celebrities needlework creations.

The air date and time for part one has been set for Tuesday 21 October, 2014 at 8:00pm on BBC Two, with the following episodes expected to broadcast later that week on Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th.
