In episode 10 of 10 in The Musketeers series 1, things finally come to a head as Athos learns of d’Artagnan and Milady de Winter’s encounters.
Here’s the full BBC synopsis for the final episode of season 1. Spoiler Alert: You may want to wait until you’ve seen all previous episodes before reading this preview, as it may give away some of the earlier story lines.
The series reaches its thrilling climax when an unexpected rift between the Musketeers threatens to blow them apart. Athos (Tom Burke) takes a woman hostage in the square and the Musketeers are amazed to discover he is threatening none other than Milady (Maimie McCoy).
Athos is furious when he finds out that d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) knows her, testing their friendship to its limits. D’Artagnan is forced to do the unthinkable and seeks Milady’s help.
Cardinal Richelieu (Peter Capaldi), fearful the Musketeers will prove he masterminded the attempt on the Queen’s life, compels Milady to kill them by any means. Milady has no choice but to revisit her dark past and in doing so puts Constance (Tamla Kari) into danger. The Musketeers must use all their wits and courage to outsmart her and save Constance.
Can the Musketeers restore their team and bring Milady and the Cardinal to justice? Or will Milady finally wreak her revenge?
This season finale will be titled ‘Musketeers Don’t Die Easily’, and is scheduled to air at 9:00pm on Sunday, 30 March, 2014, on BBC One.
Set in 17th century France, this BBC TV series was created by Adrian Hodges and is based on Alexandre Dumas’s novel, ‘The Three Musketeers’.
