When does Vera series 4 start?
It’s now been officially announced that season 4 of Vera will begin airing at 8:00pm on Sunday, 27 April, 2014 on ITV.
The new series of this highly-popular crime drama see’s award-winning actress Brenda Blethyn return to our screens as the brilliantly perceptive D.C.I. Vera Stanhope.
Also returning to the shows cast will be Vera’s trusted sidekick, Detective Sergeant Joe Ashworth, played by actor, writer and director David Leon.
Where is Vera 2014 filmed?
Production for series 4 took place between June and October of 2013, visiting such picturesque filming locations as Northumberland’s National Park along Hadrian’s Wall and the seaside resort of Whitley Bay. In episode 2, which is set in Whitley Bay, viewers may notice some of the towns iconic landmarks, such as The Spanish City Dome.

Filmed in the North East of England, the 2014 series of Vera will be made up of four stand‐alone episodes.
Based on the novels of crime author Ann Cleeves, the TV series Vera is produced by ITV Studios and first began broadcasting in May of 2011.
