The BBC have now revealed the programming times and channels for their highlight coverage of the 2014 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Suzi Perry returns to present highlights of the opening race weekend in the new Formula One season, which will be coming from Melbourne, Australia.
Qualifying Highlights: 2:55pm to 4:25pm on Saturday, 15 March on BBC Two
Race Highlights: 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, 16 March on BBC One
The four-time champion Sebastian Vettel will be aiming for an insane fifth straight title with Red Bull this season. The 26-year-old is also aiming to break Alberto Ascari’s long standing record of nine straight wins, which the German tied for in the last race of 2013.
So what hope do fans have of seeing an end to Vettel’s domination in 2014?
Providing the team can deliver a strong car, Ferrari could prove to be major contenders this year with former champs Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen making up their new driver lineup. Undoubtedly one of the strongest F1 driver pairings in recent years. With Kimi already having won a title for the Italian constructor, is Fernando’s position of number one driver at Ferrari under threat.
As far as Britain’s world champions go, Jenson Button stays put at the desperate to improve McLaren, while Lewis Hamilton again lines up for Mercedes.
For the sake of F1, let’s hope 2014 can deliver a far more competitive championship, as I’m not sure the sport could take another Vettel romp.
