BBC One have just released three teaser images for the new series of Call The Midwife, which is expected to begin airing in January of 2015.

The first two pictures show actor Jack Ashton, who plays Tom, out in the British sunshine with actress Helen George in the role of Trixie. The second image (below) gives us a behind the scenes look at the CTM filming.

The last teaser pic gives fans their first look at new face Charlotte Ritchie, who’ll be playing the character Barbara Gilbert.

The 24-year-old English actress joins Nonnatus House as a young and inexperience nurse, set to shake-up the lives of those around her. Here we see nurse Barbara already in a hurry to get somewhere, though it does look a little warm to be wearing that big trench coat.

If you can’t wait until this winter to see Charlotte on your TV screens, you can catch her playing the more contemporary part of Hannah in the new BBC3 comedy Siblings, which starts on Thursday, 7 August, 2014. However, I can’t imagine the crossover audience figures will be too high for the two BBC shows.

Also joining the line-up for the new series of Call The Midwife will be actress Linda Bassett, who’ll be playing nurse Phyllis Crane. Linda’s previously stared in such shows as ‘East Is East’, ‘Grandma’s House’ and ‘Lark Rise To Candleford’.

Filming for the 2014 Christmas special and the eight-part fourth season got under way in May of this year.
