The start date and time for the new series of Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe has now been confirmed, with episode 1 airing at 10:00pm on Thursday, 9 January, 2014, on BBC Two.

With the new year barely a week old, Brooker’s unique humor and turn of phrase returns to the BBC for a brand new 6×30 minute run, of what remains one of the funniest and most truthful shows on TV.

Since the word news was replaced by weekly in the programme’s title, Charlie has been free to cast his comic judgement over anything from politics to the latest reality TV offerings. Giving the timing of Weekly Wipes return to the television schedules, the likes of The Voice, Dancing on Ice and Splash may count themselves lucky, should they somehow escape Brooker’s critical gaze.

At the time of writing this, for those who missed its original broadcast, Charlie Brooker’s 2013 Wipe is still available to watch online via BBC iPlayer.
