How many episodes of Jekyll and Hyde are there? – ITV Drama

Number of Episodes in Jekyll and Hyde ITV Drama: 2015 series starring Tom Bateman as the man with the alter ego.

How many episodes of Jekyll and Hyde will there be?

Season one of ITV’s new action adventure drama Jekyll & Hyde will feature 10 episodes. From a TV channel that generally favours shorter series, that’s a pretty good run. In what could be the start of a new trend in creating longer US style seasons, fellow upcoming ITV drama Beowulf will be broadcast over an even more impressive 13 parts.

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s work ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’, the show will star ‘The Tunnel’ and ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ Tom Bateman in the lead role of Robert Jekyll. The young LAMDA trained actor will be joined on screen by Coronation Street’s Natalie Gumede playing Bella and Richard E Grant as Sir Roger Bulstrode.

Featuring a fair amount of CGI, the human cast members of this ambitious drama will be accompanied by numerous zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghouls and other monsters.

Thinking up all these fantastical scenarios was writer Charlie Higson, best known to most of us for starring in BBC Two’s brilliant comedy sketch series The Fast Show. The multi-talented 57-year-old is also the author of the acclaimed Young Bond series of spy fiction novels.

The programme will be set in 1930’s London – A time of monster movies and Hollywood style glamour.

When does Jekyll and Hyde start on ITV?

Episode 1 of this ten-part series is due to premiere in the UK on Sunday the 25th of October, 2015. Having already been advertised with a brief teaser trailer weeks earlier, filming was finally concluded on the 8th of July.

Should the show prove a hit amongst ITV viewers, don’t be surprised to see a second season commissioned for 2016.
