‘Intruders’ BBC Drama: UK Airing of John Simm Thriller Set for Autumn 2014

It’s been revealed today that BBC Two have signed-up to air the brand-new John Simm US drama Intruders in the UK this Autumn.

Air Date

Co-produced by BBC America with BBC Worldwide, the paranormal thriller has already had its US premiere date set for Saturday the 23rd of August, 2014, but today’s announcement means British viewers need no longer fear missing out. Running for 8, 45-minute episodes, BBC Two have yet to release Intruders exact UK air date, but they have confirmed it will be sometime in the Autumn.

UPDATE: It’s now been announced the series will begin airing on BBC2 at 9:00pm on Monday 27 October, 2014, with episode 2 following right after at 9:45pm. End of update.

Plot

With actor John Simm heading the shows cast, this mystery drama follows a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others. Based on the Michael Marshall Smith novel ‘The Intruders’,  the shows being billed as a contemporary and chilling drama set in the moody American Pacific Northwest.

Simm (with his new American accent) plays the role of writer and ex-LA cop Jack Whelan, a man with a troubled and violent past who finds his new quiet life destroyed after the disappearance of wife Amy (Mira Sorvino). Consumed with finding Amy, Jack begins to doubt how much he really knew.
