This Spring on BBC Two see’s the start of a brand new food based show, Mary Berry Cooks.

The series which is expected to air over 6 episodes, will feature The Great British Bake Off judge showing she knows more about cookery than simply how to bake a cake.

Forget all the fancy stuff though, here Mary will be giving her tips on how to prepare tasty, yet simple home cooked meals to satisfy all the family.

This particular spin-off series follows ‘Paul Hollywood’s Pies & Puds’ which broadcast on the BBC earlier this winter. As with Pies and Puds, the Mary Berry Cooks TV series will also be accompanied by a book, sharing the same title.

In this preview video from episode 1, Mary gives us her recipe for homemade strawberry jam:

With season 5 of Bake Off now scheduled to air over on BBC One later this year, fans can rest assured there’ll be no shortage of Mary Berry on telly in 2014.

The start date for Mary Berry Cooks has been scheduled for 8:30pm on Monday, 3 March, 2014, on BBC2.
