Next week see’s Frank Skinner open up the vaults for a brand new series of Room 101 on BBC One.

Episode 1 which premieres at 8:30pm on Friday, 24 January, 2014, will feature guests Richard Osman, Joan Bakewell and Roisin Conaty attempting to persuade Frank to banish their personal peeves forever.

Series 3 of Room 101 in its latest format (14th in total) will air for a total of 8 episodes.

Other celebrities who’ll be appearing on the new series include comedians Lee Mack and Henning Wehn, singer and debt collector Michael Ball, actress Caroline Quentin and hairy biker Dave Myers.

It’s not yet known if each episode will be followed a few days later by the extended repeat Room 101 – Extra Storage, though I wouldn’t be surprised.

I personally dislike the Extra Storage, Have I Got a Bit More News for You and QI XL style of BBC programming, just broadcast the full length show first. If you’ve already seen the half-hour version, you don’t want to view it all again just to see a few extra bits. I often find myself deliberately avoiding a show I like on a Friday evening, just to wait for the Monday night repeat.
