What date is The Musketeers scheduled to start on the BBC?
The shows official start date and time have now been announced by the BBC, and it’s not quite what we’d expected. BBC One have chosen to premiere episode 1 of The Musketeers on Sunday, 19 January, 2014, at 9:00pm.
The natural time slot for this brand new action-adventure would have surely been the night before, on Saturday. This would have filled the gap recently left by the highly popular Atlantis.
Instead the Beeb have decided to put the new boy directly up against ITV’s Mr Selfridge, which returns for series 2 on the same date. Seems a strange way to build an audience for a new series, but the BBC must surely be relying on Call the Midwife viewers not changing channels at 9.
Anyway, in the meantime, here’s the recently released video trailer which gives us a great look at the cast in action:
Inspired by Alexandre Dumas’s classic novel, this brand new BBC series will run for a total of 10 episodes.
